Naomi Ballantyne says she’s honoured to receive Financial Advice NZ’s 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award, but she also sees it as a reminder of how much more can be done, especially in creating opportunities for women to thrive and lead in the industry.
A statement from TAP Group, which Ballantyne now chairs, notes that throughout her career she “…has not only been a leader but a passionate champion for women in financial services, an area where greater support and representation are still needed,” (also see: 2025 Award Winners Announced).
“Financial advice has the power to change lives, and I’ve always believed in the importance of supporting advisers to do what they do best,” Ballantyne says.
TAP says she will lead its inaugural Women in Advice event being held in July in Auckland, which it describes as a full day event to empower, connect, and inspire female advisers and staff within the TAP community.
The company says that Ballantyne’s leadership has been defined by transparency, fairness “…and an unwavering commitment to doing what’s right”.
It says her influence extends beyond business success. Her passion for “…mentoring advisers, advocating for higher industry standards, and championing the next generation of women in advice, ensures her impact will be felt for generations to come.”
Ryan Edwards, Managing Director of TAP says her influence on the industry cannot be overstated.
“She has long been a champion for the profession and a mentor to countless advisers. Her leadership and advocacy for women in advice is critical to building a more diverse, dynamic, and resilient industry for the future.”
